Two Years as Senior System Analyst

I worked for SSI Consulting Group for two years as a Senior Systems Analyst doing commercial and custom programming in Visual Basic, technical support, system design and installation, web site authoring including ecommerce, and system maintenance, repair, and upgrades.

A+ Certification Earned

In December of 2002, on my first attempt, I passed both parts of the  A+ Certification. covering a broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. (from the web site) After the exam, I sent 3 pages of corrections to the text I used, highlighting 25 errors in the thousand page text. The author thanked me for my work.

Recent Projects

While I was working as a pastor, I've worked on my web design skills, working on non-profit web sites and church sites without charge and commercial sites that I design and host for pay. I've included JavaScript, flash animation, a web based interface to a resource database, CGI and ASP programming in those projects. My most recent project is found at the web site of the church I currently serve as pastor: Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church in Akron, Ohio.

Most Recent Computer Position

For 18 months in 2004 & 2005 I was a salesperson at Computer Connections making technology into cost-effective solutions for business and individuals providing system design, training, and custom built hardware.

Experience and Training

My computer resume is available in PDF format. I have been programming computers since 1975, starting on a friend's Ohio Scientific Challenger 1P.  It has a TV for a display and a cassette recorder for mass storage. We worked hours to get a missile game to almost work.

Since then I have taken courses at college in programming, taught programming at Watterson Community College in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, had assembly language programs published in Dr. Dobb's Journal, helped three Presbyteries with their computer challenges, written commercial Christian Education programs with Southwest Christian Software, published by Westminster Press, worked on some of the first web pages for the PC(USA) and any local Presbyterian church, worked with computers for the Presbyterian Church's General Assembly for several years and written several programs that enhanced the PresbyNet Convene for DOS computer conferencing system.
