My interests are the Christian Faith as it is worked out in
the Presbyterian Church (USA), technology especially computers and
programming, and firefighting.
 | Religion - I have been a Presbyterian pastor in 3 states
spanning 16 years, and employed as a minister by a hospital, a prison,
a fire department, and 6 churches.

| Humor - I like a good joke or story that turns a situation
around or looks at life from a new perspective. Humor! I believe that
humor gets by our defenses and allows us to consider new possibilities
and gives us opportunities for growth.

| Firefighting - I was chaplain for Ottawa Fire
Department in Ottawa, Ohio. I was in the top 5 in number of alarms
answered and training hours. The fire department was next door to the
church I served which gave me a much needed head start on making a
truck.

| Computers - I programmed my first personal computer
in 1976. It was difficult to get the cassette tape player to save the
program before the flawed memory chip (4K!) would reset the computer
and wipe out the program. I got on line in the mid-80s watching the
messages from beyond roll across the screen at 300 bps.
Recently, I spent two years as Senior Systems Consultant with SSI
Consulting Group in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. I worked with business
installing, administrating and maintaining their computers systems,
training their staff, and finding technological solutions to meet
their goals. I also worked on commercial and custom programs and
business web sites with ecommerce capabilities. In December of 2002 I
received my A+ Certification. |
