     | | What People Are Saying...

        | Here is an email written to me by a couple who celebrated their 60th
wedding anniversary while I was 25% time interim at Derry Presbyterian
        Church.
          | | Look at it this way...without these trials,
testing of your faith, working of patience, and fighting the good
fight...life could be boring! Dear Christy, We loved your
sermons! You have a remarkable way with children! Your encouragement
and advice for the church's future were sound and true! We will miss
            you!
Godspeed, Jim & Phyllis   | The Conference Minister (executive) of the Penn West Conference
Office of the United Church of Christ wrote this letter to me after the
resolution of the lawsuit our churches were involved in. I had proposed
the resolution and worked with the session and our lawyer to bring it
about at ½ of the initial cost estimate.

          | | On
behalf of the former members of St. Paul's UCC, Derry, and the Penn
West Conference, please accept our heartfelt thanks for the
partnership in the final days of St. Paul's UCC church. We grieve at
the strained and difficult relationships that the dissolution and
removal of the facilities caused for the community, neighbors, and
for the ensuing resolution of the Sherbondy Estate. Please accept
our apology. We deeply appreciate the use of a portion of the
Sherbondy Estate by the Session to enable the final removal of the
            building... Alan N. McLartyConference Minister
